Dr. Kamal Bajwa: Dentist & Owner
Dr. Bajwa is the guy you are coming to see. It’s hard to summarize what he does because he does so much. Basically, after you have seen a member of our staff Dr. Bajwa will join you for one reason or another. He will enter into the room and check to see how you have been since he last saw you. This is a good opportunity to let him know that you are going through something (anything… happy, sad, or indifferent). He truly believes in treating the entire person and not just a single tooth.
If you come to the office for a cleaning he will step in with the hygienist to examine your overall dental health. He will look for decay, broken teeth, and check your bone levels. If there is reason for any concern he will discuss it with you.
If you have returned to the office to have decay removed and filled or to fix a broken tooth he will join the dental assistant in your room, give you anesthetic (he doesn’t want you to feel a thing!) and proceed as appropriate. If you are feeling apprehensive about dental treatment he make take this time to explain the procedure more thoroughly, or make a joke in attempt to lighten the atmosphere.
Krystal: Office Manager
Krystal’s primary station is at the front desk, but she will often be found helping all over the office. She will also greet you upon arrival and help with any forms you may need to fill out. If you have advanced billing or insurance questions she is your go to girl. She coordinates complex treatment plans and handles all financial arrangements. One of her favorite duties is getting to know patients. On any given day you may hear catching up on patient news.
Portia: Receptionist & Dental Assistant
Most days you will find Portia at the front desk. Her primary role is to warmly welcome you to our office. She is typically the first person you will talk to when you call the office. She will help you update insurance information and have you fill out any forms we may need prior to beginning your dental appointment. She can help you with basic insurance and billing questions. As part of the checkout process she will help you make any necessary appointments as well as take payments for work completed.
When she is a dental assistant she will help take you from the waiting room back to your appointment, take any necessary pictures, and speak with you about any concerns you may be having. She will also assist the doctor with any procedures he may be performing for you. At the end of your appointment she will walk you to the front and help you communicate your future needs with the front office.
Angie
After the check-in process is complete Angie will call you back to her operatory for your dental cleaning. She will first review your health history and do an oral cancer screen. If you are having any areas of concern she will note them to discuss with the doctor when he comes in for an exam. If the symptoms warrant an x-ray she will take an x-ray of the area bothering you and any other x-rays that you are due for. She will move forward with your cleaning, and when the doctor is free he will join in for an exam. Angie will complete your dental cleaning with flossing and polishing your teeth. When your cleaning is finished she will escort you to the front desk and communicate your needs with Portia or Krystal.
Linda
After the check-in process is complete Linda will call you back to her operatory for your dental cleaning. She typically starts your visit off with a Listerine “Cocktail” to help kill bacteria. Then she will review your health history and do an oral cancer screen. Next she will ask you if you have been experiencing any problems. If you are due for x-rays she will take them, and possibly take an x-ray of any areas that you find concerning. Towards the end of your cleaning the doctor will join Linda for an exam. Any areas of decay or other concern with your teeth will be address and you will have an opportunity to ask the doctor questions. Linda will finish your cleaning with flossing and polishing your teeth. Once your cleaning is complete she will escort you to the front desk and communicate your future needs to either Portia or Krystal.
Simone
After the check-in process Simone will lead you to your room. If you have personal things that need to be set aside she will offer you the hook designated for patient belongings. She will briefly discuss the procedure and any concerns you may have. A topical anesthetic will be placed and the doctor will join Simone. Simone will remain in the room for the majority of your appointment and will be available to answer any questions you may have. Once the procedure is complete she will escort you to the front desk and communicate any needs with the front office.
